Dr Yi-Teng Shih has considerable industry experience and his portfolio ranges from consumer electronics to healthcare devices. These include projects for Brookstone, RadioShack, beurer, FORA and JustHerb so he has built design project collaborations between university and international/local companies. His supervision in design has won more than 50 international design awards and twelve patents in the past few years, including Reddot concept design award, IDEA award, A’ DESIGN award, European product design award and IDA design award. He has been invited as a design jury for 2018 International DesignNest Award and the topic was ‘Bring Your Designs to Life’.

Dough Toolset
Description
The toy tools provide cutting, pressing, and squeezing to help children make different dough shapes. However, many toy dough tools on the market are based on geometric shapes. Therefore, the team combined both children's ergonomic considerations and different vegetables' shapes to design this tool set. The design challenge was to identify the right ergonomic that can fit children hand size so the team produced many sketch models in order to test the comfort.

Description
The team designed four cute animal shapes so children can learn to understand different animals and creative different hair styles for them to develop their own craft skills. The team made a large area of the pressure plate on the bottom of the animals, so children can easily operate. Children need to put the dough inside the animal toy, and through squeezing, the dough hair will be squeezed out and trim them. Dough is a material that can be reused. Moreover, the toy is suitable for playing with other people, such as friends and parents, and creates a lot of fun by making funny hair.
