At Paper Parade, our theme is to create new value in paper and printing while crossing the boundaries between digital and physical. While experimenting with new forms of expression and exploring new concepts, we will continue to develop works that change the values of paper, printing, and materials, centering on graphic design. We are able to express ourselves uniquely while being influenced by the two forms of expression, design and artwork. The origin of Paper Parade is "exploring the possibilities of paper and printing". I believe that combining paper and printing with new elements will lead to even more possibilities.

Lacquerware Paper Plate

Description

Origami Shikki is a lacquer ware (paper plate) made of Japanese paper (Washi). The design is a fusion of origami techniques and traditional Japanese technology. Unlike conventional paper plates, the lacquer treatment makes them waterproof and durable, and they can be washed and reused over and over again. Origami Shikki's geometric designs are created using the Origami technique of folding from a single sheet of paper. The paper used for Origami Shikki is made using the traditional Echizen Washi technique, which produces a unique pattern on the surface of the plate.

Description

The Heralbony Package was created as branding for an art-life brand that sells art by artists with intellectual disabilities. Based on the brand concept of promoting the works of artists with intellectual disabilities, blue, the symbolic color of World Autism Day, was chosen for the brand color. In addition, one type of blue paper was selected as the brand's official paper out of more than 9,000 types of paper products from Japanese paper makers. By using only that blue paper for all brand tools that customers touch, a consistent worldview was designed.

Description

This project was inspired by the traditional origami technique of folding a single sheet of paper and the functionality of washi paper, with its texture and breathability, a technique and material born in Japan. This origami mask is a project that combines two traditional elements that are familiar to Japanese people: washi and origami.
