This project presents 56 single families dropping in a mountain scenic area. The integration of ‘heaven, earth and humanity’ is the overriding philosophy. Inspired by the traditional Chinese stilt house, each villa is supported by steel frames to respect existing topo and promote lightness. Large glass enclosure emphasizes the horizontal extension and creates the effect of glass boxes floating among the alpine landscape. Overall delivers a complete design of fulfilled natural belongings.

Rural Housing
Song-Zhang-Kou New Rural Housing is aiming to address two major issues of the current rural community in China: preserve the collective lifestyle for a large elderly population and keep a minimal budget for improvement. The cluster house grouping gives possibilities for neighborhood bonding; individual courtyard serves for storage and sun-cure habit; housing style refined from traditional Northern Jiangsu Architecture and simplified to meet the budget. This practice is dedicated to improving the rural residents’ well-being as well as the new rural community's outlook.
